30 AND COUNTING FOR DARING BOWIE

Barry Drake

Daring Bowie deserves a special mention after the brilliant performer notched up a 30th career success at Kilcohan Park on Saturday night.
Trained by Michael Meade for owners Stephanie Maguire and Peter Woods, the son of Ballymac Best and Libbys Pet delivered another fantastic performance to win the A2 contest, in 28.89. Showing his usual big burst of early speed, once he won the all-important early lead, he was then always in control.
Not many greyhounds achieve the milestone of 30 wins and he also has 16 second-placed finishes. Bowie turned four years old in October and going on Saturday's winning run, many wins are expected to follow. His career earnings now stand at €15,395.
Expertly handled by trainer Michael Meade, he's a super dog for all involved.
It's also worth mentioning that Saturday was a special night for the well-known Daring kennels. Jimmy Maguire and his daughter Stephanie enjoyed a night to remember, hitting three winners on the night.
Daring Bentley clocked an outstanding 28.92 in the A0/A1 contest and Daring Babs posted 29.37 in the A5. Jimmy picked up the Special Merit award in recognition of his contribution to Kilcohan Park Greyhound Stadium at the 2023 National Greyhound Stadium Awards. A great night all round for trainer Michael Meade, Jimmy, and Stephanie. Keep the winners coming!
