A FEATURE RACE CROSSFIELD DOUBLE

There were two finals up for decision at Shelbourne Park on Friday night and Brendan O’Shea landed both prizes with Crossfield Dean and Crossfield Roman dominating in their respective assignments.

Crossfield Dean got the ball rolling in the final of the Upcoming Sweepstakes A2/A3 525, justifying even money favouritism with a comfortable trap to line success. The son of Droopys Sydney and Crossfield Linda shot from five and comfortably cleared Rathanny Laura into the turn. He proceeded to ease clear from halfway to win by five lengths from Rathanny Laura in 28.55. Roscomroe Rocky stayed on to take third, some three lengths further adrift.

ROMAN COMPLETES BRENDAN’S DOUBLE

Crossfield Roman was second favourite for the final of the Three Steps To Victory A3/A4 Tri-Distance but when his kennel companion Crossfield Matt walked from trap three, he quickly became the one to beat.

The son of Droopys Sydney and Crossfield Feena displayed real fluency from the boxes and loved the longer run to the turn over the 575yd trip.

Moving over three lengths clear by the turn, the August ’23 whelp never looked under an ounce of pressure thereafter. Maintaining a strong gallop to the line, he eventually hit the line five lengths clear in 31.26. Crossfield Matt flew home to take second and remains a very bright prosect. Daring Danny was best of the remainder, just a neck away in third.
