Droopys Maximus (Droopys Sydney-Droopys Sweet) went quickest in the opening round of the Casey's Caravan & Camping Park ON1 Stake at Kilcohan Park on Saturday night.

Only three went to traps for the opening heat and it was all about the November puppy up front. A wide margin and impressive debut-winning performance for trainer Johnny Linehan and owners Paul Ellis and Seamus Hagan. A perfect start to his racing career, in 28.52.

In the second heat, Kohinoor Spinner (Broadstrand Bono-Kohinoor Flash) impressed when winning for John O'Donnell. Showing real pace and delivering a powerful performance, the 3-1 shot got the better of hot favourite Radical Scoby, by three lengths, in 28.71.

The third and final heat went the way of Wonderful Ollie (Droopys Sydney-Ballymac Beanie) for trainer Robert Gleeson and owners Alan and Pat Dobbs. The even money shot was always in the mix and the winner stayed on best in the closing stages to win, in 28.90, a length clear of Montana Duke.

In the feature, the opening round of the Dave Collins Memorial Munster Oaks, it was Bockos Crystal who set the standard when winning for trainer Graham Holland and owner Beverley Lochead. Once slipping around the opening turns in front, it was game over and the classy winner, a 2-1 shot, went on to beat Ballymac Wendy, by a length, in 28.42.

Only three went to traps for the second heat and it was Star Molly who delivered a power-packed performance to score for Patrick Everard. The 2-1 winner sat second for most of the way, but she displayed plenty of staying power late on, winning in 28.52, four lengths clear of Rathdown Molly.

Darbys Queen ran out an impressive winner of the opening heat for trainer Patrick Devaney and owners the Deavaney Family Syndicate. The September was following up on a recent Shelbourne Park winning run with another big performance here. Leading all the way, in 28.54, the 5-2 winner got the better of Legit News, by four lengths.

In the third heat, Deelish Nora scored for trainer John McGee and owner J.S.Porter. The 4-6 favourite was in front early on and she stuck to her task well upfront. Another big winning run, posting 28.65 and in the process, she got the better of Mustang Fever, by a length.
