GIZMO CASH ran out a brilliant winner of the €3,500 Greyhound & Petworld Supersprint final at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.
Owned and trained by Jamie McGee, the 4-1 shot was following up on his semi-final victory with another stunning winning performance. Producing a really quick start, he took over from Moonlight Macy shortly before the opening corner.
Favourite Flashing Willow was also making his move, but Gizmo Cash was always in control from the moment he took up the running. Powering up the home straight, the talented winner pulled three lengths clear of the fast-finishing Ballymac Art, in 17.43. Three-quarters of a length back to Flashing Willow in third place. A massive win for young trainer Jamie McGee.
STANDOUT RACE
The other standout race on the card was the closing race and it produced a very exciting finish. Coom Leo just get the verdict over Serene Ace in a cracking contest.
Trained by Pat Buckley for Michael Murphy, the 7-4 shot had to dig deep in the closing stages to get the better of Serene Ace. Just a short head separating the front two at the line. A 28.80 winning performance.
