The talent of bitches in the Country is something that has been highlighted on more than one occasion in recent months and the brilliant Illnotbeback certainly fell into that bracket during her time on track.
Owned by Freddy Adams of Derry, it didn’t take long for Illnotbeback to express her engine as she broke the 29-second barrier on just her third career start at Dundalk. From there, the exceptional daughter of Droopys Sydney and Shirocco Star went from strength to strength and under than stewardship of Paul Hennessy, she posted a blistering 28.07 around Shelbourne Park. Further efforts of 28.12, 28.02 and 28.07 were to follow around Cork and Shelbourne, however, she will be best remembered for the record-breaking performance in the Rebel County as she landed an Open Bitch 525, which featured the likes of Bockos Melody and Crossfield Linda, in a sensational 27.81.
Now back under the care of Tony Maxwell in Lifford, Illnotbeback is off to the breeding paddocks and the news is that she has been mated to the brilliant Ballymac Bolger. Given the pedigree of the classy brindle, who is also a full sister to the Bar One Irish Sprint Cup finalist, Manuone, connections can be very hopeful of a couple of future stars filtering through in the not too distant future!
