Rásaíocht Con Éireann / Greyhound Racing Ireland (GRI) has responsibility for the promotion, regulation and ongoing commercial development of the Greyhound industry in Ireland. Care and welfare of greyhounds are key priorities for GRI and for the greyhound industry generally. In 2021 GRI carried out over 1,000 kennel inspections across the country. Arising from an upcoming retirement GRI wishes to recruit a Stipendiary Steward which is a key role from a integrity, regulation and welfare perspective. The position is open to both internal and external candidates.
Job Title: Stipendiary Steward
Objective: The position is an important role in terms of overseeing, supervising and delivering the integrity of the greyhound industry in relation to; official race meetings, official trial sessions at licensed stadia, kennel inspections, oversight and promotion of welfare standards pursuant to the Greyhound Industry Act 1958 - 2019 and the Welfare of Greyhounds Act 2011.
Reports to: Director of Regulation, Care & Welfare or Nominee of the CEO
Primary Work Location: A nominated GRI location

Hours of Work
The role is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, 5 days from 7. Flexibility will be required to meet the requirements of the role.
