Patrons were treated to some brilliant performances at Thurles Greyhound Stadium last night and the highlight on the card was a double for Liam Peacock who has now recorded back-to-back doubles at the Premier venue.

Bogger Hunter is a pup with a bright future and he maintained his unbeaten career start in race five as he made it three wins from as many starts. Owned by Liam Peacock, the September 20’ whelp flashed from trap two to lead early on and in truth, he was always going to prove a tough nut to crack thereafter. Setting a strong gallop throughout, the son of Skywalker Farloe and Bottle Of Banter stayed on stoutly to see off Kylenoe Steph by two lengths at the winning line. The time was 29.07 .20s.

Shortly after, Bogger Blaze sealed a litter double Skywalker Farloe and Bottle Of Banter as he landed race nine in good style. In charge throughout, Bogger Blaze maintained a solid gallop all the way to the winning line where he had one length to spare over Lacken Jessie in second. The time was 29.62 .20s and Liam Peacock is certainly an owner who is turning out regular winners and is one to keep an eye on going forward.

IN OTHER RACES

Rahyvira Bale came into last night’s ON2/3 525 with some hugely impressive trial form around Kilkenny and Thurles and he made a winning start to his racing career with a comprehensive victory. Jointly owned by Gerard and Jason White, the May 20’ son of Magical Bale and Rising Spice broke smartly from trap two and once doing so, he set a powerful gallop to draw clear of his rivals. Staying on well in the closing stages, this was a very promising debut from Rahyvira Bale as he crossed the line with five lengths to spare over Colmyard King in second. The time was 29.09 .20s.

Crinkill Kicker is a regular over the four-bend trip but he stepped back to the sprinting distance in some style last night for Jamie and Madeline Corboy. A November 18’ son of Cloran Paddy and Timerboe, Crinkill Kicker trapped nicely wearing blue and he showed the superior early gears to take over from Dansophiella in second. Tracking expertly at this point, the powerful black pulled clear up the home straight to cross the line with five lengths in hand. The time was a brisk 17.98 .10s.

Cabra Cleo is a real money spinner for Paddy Scally and she landed her 570-yard contest in race four to bring her career tally to nine wins. It was Errill Daithi who led early on from trap one, however, Cabra Cleo lurked menacingly in behind and while Errill Daithi and Bob Olinger crossed paths up front, Cabra Cleo flew up the inside to take control. Staying on strongly thereafter, the daughter of Pat C Sabbath and Cabra Laura was three and a half lengths better off than Bob Olinger crossing the winning line. The time was 31.61 .20s.

Rorys Sabb was the next to post some nice figures as he recorded a ninth career win in race six. Owned by Brendan Kenny, Rorys Sabb took over from Kilvil Arnold midway down the back straight before pressing home his advantage on the run for home. Staying on well on as the winning line loomed large, the son of Pat C Sabbath and Headford Hoe stormed to a four length win over Crescent Tibet in second. The time was 29.00 .20s.

The 29-second barrier received another scare in race ten as Bull Run Ripple ran to a comfortable success in the end for Doireann Quinlan. Fast into stride wearing the striped jacket, Bull Run Ripple followed Cooleagh Sonic into the back and she took control of the contest rounding the penultimate turn. Setting a powerful gallop thereafter, the daughter of Ballymac Vic and Tipp The Deise raced to an easy five and a half length victory over Toolate Shannon in second. The time was 29.05 .20s.

In the penultimate race of the night, Breathtaking went fast for Kim Taylor. Pinging the lids from trap one, Breathtaking took no prisoners early on as she posted a 1.63 sectional. In full control thereafter, the daughter of Good News and Ballymac Abigail proved a class above her rivals as he crossed the line with five lengths in hand over Knockalton Conor in second. The time was 29.09 .20s.
