The €10,000 to the winner Time Greyhound Nutrition Select Stakes got underway in Kilcohan Park on Saturday night.
The Other Kobe set the standard in the opening heat as he overcame the wide draw to land the spoils.
Trained by Jennifer O'Donnell for owners B Clare and David L'estrange, the 3-1 winner produced a flying start from trap five and he drove a really brave corner to slip around in front. Quickly pulling three lengths clear of Cryptopunk, the impressive winner stuck to his task well in the closing stages and at the line, he was a length clear of Cryptopunk, in 28.52. A length back to Tommy Too Many in third place.
ALL THE WAY FOR BURGESS
The second heat was all about the early paced Burgess Rapid as the 4-1 shot led all the way for JJ Fennelly and Sheila Spillane.
A superb front running display to beat Kilgraney Sydney, who showed massive pace in defeat to get within a length and a half after little luck at the opening corner. A 28.66 winning display with Ower Mystery a length behind the runner up in third place.
BUNDLES OF CLASS FROM WI CAN DREAM
Wi Can Dream showed bundles of class to win the third and final heat for trainer Patrick Guilfoyle and owner Lars Wicander.
Always towards the head of affairs, the even-money favourite took control in the second half of the race and in the end, he ran out a very impressive winner. A leading player for outright glory, he got the better of Ballygur Bale, by five and a half lengths, in 28.56. A further length back to Burgess Bolger in third place.
