The Other Kobe tonight was announced as the Supreme Greyhound of The Year for 2023 at the National Greyhound Racing Awards hosted at Limerick Greyhound Stadium.
A dog whose Tipperary based trainer Jennifer O’Donnell hoped was destined for Irish Greyhound Derby glory in 2022, only to be outshone by his own litter brother Born Warrior who went to claim that crown.
The Other Kobe had to wait a year to prove himself and he did that in style at the 2023 Irish Greyhound Derby where he took the top prize.
Photo shows celebrations by Tipperary trainer Jennifer O’Donnell, family and friends and owners Brian Clare and David L'Estrange as The Other Kobe is crowned Supreme Greyhound of the Year for 2023 at the National Greyhound Racing Awards.
Given the calibre of her progeny it is no surprise therefore that their mother Mountaylor Queen was announced as Brood Bitch of the Year at the same awards. From one litter of three pups, she produced two Irish Greyhound Derby Winners!
Congratulations to all of the winners on the night:
