There was another hugely successful sale at Kilkenny on Saturday morning with an excellent clearance rate just shy of ninety percent with the headlines going to the Katie Frazer and Richard Fitzgerald owned “Keylogue Rancher” as he fetched an incredible sum on the bench.
The January ’21 son of Bull Run Bolt and Ranchers Rainbow had three previous races without success but won his sales trial in 28.89. After a lengthy bidding process, the hammer eventually dropped at €11,000, the highest sum paid for a greyhound at a Kilkenny sale in 10 years.
DIEGO GOES FASTEST
Incredibly, his 28.89 return wasn’t even the fastest return of the day.
Instead, that honour went to John Joe Kelly’s Baunaniska Diego, as he stopped the clock in a rapid 28.88. The August ’20 son of Droopys Sydney and Liosgarbh Eve was eventually sold for €5,000.
Kranky Summer, a Jan ’21 unraced son of Droopys Sydney and Droopys Creed, won his sales trial in 29.29 and was sold for €4,050. Other notable sales included Bennys Champ (€3,300), Gymstar Select (€2,700) and Trumpers Bill (€2,000).
