Ballinacarriga was on top form in the final of the €1,300 Eoin Ivers Building Ltd Tri-Distance Final at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.
Trained by Kieran Lynch for owners the Anna-Mac-Syndicate, the 3-1 shot had delivered some good performances in recent weeks, but the classy winner saved his best run for the feature final. Showing his usual early speed to lead, Ballinacarriga was soon in top gear and he flew around the opening turns in front.
Favourite Rex Mundi turned second and he looked a huge danger, however, the one in front kept finding throughout and it went down as a smashing performance. Getting off the mark for the first time on outing number five, Ballinacarriga beat Rex Mundi, by two lengths, in 31.29. (575).

It looked game over when long odds on favourite Trouble went around in front, but Cians Jet was always on terms and he finished off much the stronger to win, by four lengths, in 28.78.
