Those that follow Enniscorthy track on social media will be more than aware that they are very proactive with wonderful updates and initiatives.
The latest of which has been advertised for the last week or two and it centres around the upcoming Public House Sweepstake ON2/ON3 Unraced.
The competition which commences next Monday, August 8th boasts a prize fund of almost €7,000 (subject to the stake filling). Those looking to have a runner are reminded that entries close tomorrow, August 2nd.
But the real attraction of the competition is the engagement with the public. Each pup in the stake will represent a pub from the south east. And the winning greyhound will win their attached pub a free night out at Enniscorthy track. With a bar tab of €400 covered, it could turn into a real reason to celebrate at the track.
A huge well done to all involved in the initiative. Apart from a wonderful unraced competition to look forward to, they will also have real engagement from the local area and hopefully it will bring a number of extra bodies to the wonderful Enniscorthy track in the coming weeks.
Certainly, when the sun shines in the south east, there are few better places to be on a Monday and Thursday evening.
