WONDERFUL TRINITY COMPLETES HIS RCETS MARCH

The exciting Trinity Junior completed his unbeaten march through the RCETS Open Unraced at Shelbourne Park on Friday night, landing the €7,500 to the winner decider with another superb display of front running.

The Peter Cronin trained son of Laughil Blake and Oi Oi Upenalty was always likely to race prominently into the turn and he didn’t disappoint. Clona Rebel and Garryvoe Joe also went up fast but Trinity Junior had a marginal advantage on the bend and, when his two rivals bumped on the inside of the track, he drove his way to the front.

It was a decisive manoeuvre. Entering the back straight with just over three lengths in hand on Garryvoe Joe, he was always travelling like a winner. Garryvoe Joe did close the gap and for a brief moment seemed to have a chance when Trinity Junior swung a little wide but the leader kicked again once straightening.

Tim Slevin’s Trinity Junior ran right to the line to emerge a deserving winner by a length from Garryvoe Joe in a fast 28.34. There was a further six length gap to Ballymac Bronze in third. Logic would suggest the winner will be Juvenile Derby bound and given his tremendous early speed he must be seen as a serious challenger.

SYD GIVES RIVALS THE SLIP

Elsewhere on the card there were two valuable finals up for decision.

All About Syd emerged triumphant in the Barking Buzz App A3 525, leading early before being left clear after an opening bend scrimmage. Trained by Marie Gilbert for Willie Rigney, the son of Droopys Sydney and Yahoo Perlena went on to beat the staying on Heathcliff by two and a half lengths in 29.22. 

WIZARD REPEAT SEMI-FINAL SUCCESS

The second final up for decision was that of the Talking Dogs A2 550 and it produced an almost carbon copy of the semi-final success of Wizard.

As he had done the previous week, the Paraic Campion trained son of Magical Bale and Coolavanny Park went up well to lead before the turn.

Paradise Moldova dived inwards from trap four leaving the outside duo with plenty of space. With the room of Shelbourne Park to work with, Wizard struck the front in the early yards from trap five and he proceeded to make every yard thereafter.

As he had done seven days earlier, Jamaica Jake gave chase in second but he was never gong to get to the leader. Wizard, owned by Gary Pepper, eased on to win by four and a half lengths in 30.12.
