JACKTEVERN BOLTS UP IN ROUND THEE OF THE KASKO DERBY AT CURRAHEEN PARK

Round three of the A1 Kasko Derby took centre stage at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.

In the second heat, Jacktavern Bolt delivered the performance of the event when clocking a fantastic 28.15 for trainer Graham Holland and owners the Pillar Syndicate. The 1-2 favourite was clear early and it was all one-way traffic at the head of affairs. Making it three straight wins in the event, Bolt was five lengths clear of the fast-finishing Strike It Alice, in 28.15. Four and a half lengths back to Dellser Bells in third place.

Only a December youngster, Bartlemy Droopy was another to put on a big performanc when winning the closing heat for trainer Kieran Lynch and owners Liam Mannix and Patrick Pyne. The 2-1 shot was in front early and the powerful youngster was always going to take the world of catching. A superb display, winning by five and a half lengths from kennel mate Peroni Eoiny, in 28.39. Half a length back to Coosey Hall in third place.

In heat three, Dashgrove Bolger made all the running to cause a 10-1 shock for owner Patrick Finn. Winning the all-important early lead, the classy winner was always in control he beat Strike It Merlin, by three lengths, in 28.71. Two lengths back to Da Gonzo in third place.

In the opening heat, Rebel Ocean returned to winning ways for trainer Kieran Lynch and owner Vincent O'Keeffe. It was a tough performance from the front running winner as he held all challengers in the closing yards. A 28.80 winning run, a short head clear of Mendalson, with three quarters of a length clear of Joyces Bocko.

Trouble made a winning return to racing action in the closing race, the DK Accountancy Getting Out Stakes Open 525, for trainer Kieran Lynch and owners the Memphis Mafia Syndicate. A brilliant return to land the spoils, in 28.49.

Brideview Sydney was a popular winner of race number five, the Bar One Racing Irish Laurels Trial Stake. Trained by Pat Kiely for Bridget Murphy, the 9-4 winner displayed big early speed to slip around in front and the in-form tracker stuck to his task well in the closing stages to land the spoils, in 28.53.

In the second Bar One Racing Irish Laurels Trial Stake, Galloping Image galloped them into the ground when winning for Pat and Una Creed.  A 28.77 front running display from the 5-4 shot.

Dubious Deluxe landed the opening semi final of the Curraheen Park A2 stake semi final for Paul King. Slipping around in front, the outcome never looked in any doubt as the 5-1 shot beat Acoustic Belle, by three lengths, in 28.80.

In the second semi final, Crafty Supremo recovered after a poor start to make it four straight wins for Shane Divilly and Eimear O'Dwyer. The 4-6 market leader showed plenty of pace and the February puppy just had enough in reserve to fend off the running on Star Syd, by half a length, in 29.01.
