KOBE BREAKS 17 SECONDS TO THIRD BEND

It will come as no surprise that the Other Kobe became the first greyhound to break the 17 second barrier to the third turn in his exceptional quarter final victory in the Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby on Saturday night.
Posting a stunning 16.88, he sent out a loud and clear warning to his rivals that he was in the form of his career in a 29.15, joint fastest of the Derby, return.
De Lahdedah was also hugely impressive in victory, dominating in the opening heat to win in 29.31. He posted 17.04 to the third turn, just one spot slower than he went a week earlier.
Bocko Crystal didn’t win her heat but continues to step forward with each outing after seasonal rest. While Bens Teddy came through to score, Bockos Crystal was in front to the third turn sectional mark, clocking 17.24.
It is somewhat surprising that Well Met was slowest of the four third bend leaders with a 17.25 return in the last of the heats.
