There was some superb racing at Shelbourne Park on Thursday evening including a couple of good finals and a couple of superb displays on the undercard.
Slaney Valley, Swords Hudson and Cashen Bazooka came home in front in their respective finals, while the likes of Tuono Charlie, Da Gameisup and Grove Zenyatta also impressed in their respective races.
PROGRESSIVE VALLEY TOO GOOD
Slaney Valley continued his rapid improvement in the final of the Barking Buzz App A4, leading early to emerge a comfortable winner for Martin Lanney and the David, Gerry Danny Syndicate.
The son of Soul and Up The Shannon won his opening round assignment in 29.41 before going far faster in the semis last week, posting 28.93.
He went even faster in the final, dominating from the opening turn to stop the clock in a rapid 28.74. At the line, the January ’22 whelp had two lengths to spare over the fast finishing Rockmount Blue with Nowayned another seven lengths adrift in third.
HUDSON ON TOP IN UNRACED DECIDER
There was plenty happening in the final of the Barking Buzz App ON1 525 with Swords Hudson taking charge of the second turn as early pace-setter
The Other Donny was clipped from behind. Swords Hudson jumped at his chance, asserting before halfway to emerge a good winner for Barbara Lowndes and Graham Holland.
The son of Droopy Sydney and Newinn Cuckoo emerged a length and a half on top in 28.81 with The Other Donny closest of the remainder in second.
BAZOOKA FIRES IN 750 FINAL
Cashen Bazooka avoided an opening bend scrimmage to turn second to Beaming Becca in the final of the Talking Dogs D2/D3 750.
Once doing so, Chris Houlihan and James Hannon’s daughter of Laughil Blake and former top stayer Looking Sharp was always too close. Taking over on the fifth turn, she stayed on to hold the big finish of Lisadora by two lengths in 42.14.
CHARLIE A PROSPECT
Tuono Charlie was a superb winner of the opener, coming through on the run in to lead for a three length victory over Scooby Pacemaker in 28.52.
The winner, a son of Good News and Farranrory Bonny, is trained by Sharon Hunt for Paul Dyer and is worth keeping on your radar.
DA GAME IS TOO QUICK
Da Gamisup made every inch in the sol sprint.
Owned by the O’Donnell Abu Syndicate and trained by Brendan Everard, the son of Run Happy and Bogger Bonnnie was too sharp as he came home four lengths clear in 18.71.
ZENYATTA GALLOPS RIVALS INTO GROUND
Grove Zenyatta was one of the most eye-catching winners on the card, making a successful six bend debut in some style.
Denis Mcardle’s daughter of Balymac Anton and Groveshill View was never too far away before taking charge at the fifth bend. She raced right away from this point to win by an ever-increasing seven lengths in 41.63. It was a really taking display and she is clearly one to keep an eye on over extended trips gong forward.
