Barry Drake
Barefoot On Song (Grangeview Ten-Jaytee Osprey), trained by Paul Hennessy for owners Bryan and Kathleen Murphy, went quickest on the clock in the €5,000 to the winner John Fitzgerald Memorial Mini Open Bitch Stake at Kilcohan Park on Saturday night.
In front early, the 6-4 second favourite was flying down the back straight as Barro Ellie was going well in behind. The order remained the same, with the impressive winner pulling out all the stops in front. A stunning 28.34 winning run, two lengths clear of Barro Ellie, with two and a half lengths back to Piccadilly Attic in third place.
Annie On Faya (Superior Panama-Cabra Skylar) ran out a convincing winner of the second semi-final, clocking a brilliant 28.39 for trainer Murt Leahy and owner Cian Mulrooney. Displaying massive early speed, the 6-4 winner was soon well in control and the outcome was never in any doubt. Abbeyside Spice was best of the rest, six and a half lengths back, with a head back to Ballybreen Luna in third place.
