DUNDALK STADIUM DELIVERS SUN-KISSED SPECTACULAR AT FAMILY FUNDAY AND BAR ONE RACING IRISH SPRINT CUP FINAL

Dundalk, Ireland –15th August 2024 – Dundalk Stadium transformed into a vibrant hub of excitement and entertainment as thousands flocked to the annual Family Funday and Bar One Racing Dual Racing Day, culminating in the thrilling Bar One Racing Irish Sprint Cup Final.

What started as a dreary morning took a dramatic turn as the day unfolded, revealing a stunningly sunny and warm afternoon. The perfect weather conditions attracted spectacular crowds who came to enjoy a day packed with thrilling horse and greyhound racing, alongside a host of family-friendly activities.

The highlight of the day undoubtedly was the Irish Sprint Cup Final, which saw Broardstrand Syd claim the coveted title and a substantial prize purse of €20,000. The race itself was a heart-stopping spectacle that had the crowd on the edge of their seats which culminated in a huge roar as the impressive hound crossed the finish line.

Beyond the racing, the Family Funday area was a hive of activity with Phils Mobile Farm, Pony Rides, Birds of Prey Exhibition, Face Paints and Balloon Modelling, double decker play bus and Frontrunner Racing was on hand to discuss all things racing.  Children and adults alike were captivated by the array of entertainment on offer.

Between the exhilarating horse and greyhound races, the atmosphere was kept alive with fantastic musical performances. The energetic band 6 for 7 had the crowd dancing and singing along, while the talented musician Paddy Byrne delivered a captivating solo set that added a touch of class to the day's entertainment.

Dundalk Stadium would like to extend its gratitude to Barney O’ Hare and all at Bar One Racing for their invaluable support and contribution to the event's success. The long-standing relationship has been in place for over 20 years.
