NICKY 1500 NOT OUT

One of the most popular handlers in the sport Nicky Turner had reason to smile at Enniscorthy on Monday night, as not only did he record a wonderful double with Baton Rouge and Dysert Queen, but he also reached an incredible milestone.

The success of Baton Rouge saw the classic winning handler rack up winner number 1500. It’s an incredible achievement that few have matched in the long history of our sport. As stated, Nicky has tasted classic success in the past, sending out Tigers Eye to win the 1999 Laurels and the wonderful Roisins Dessie to win the 2005 Produce Stakes but this latest accolade must feel very sweet indeed.

On behalf of his many friends in the sport, we’d like to congratulate Nicky on his milestone. No doubt plenty will be urging him to pursue 2000. No pressure Nicky!
