Friday night's racing at Curraheen Park featured the final of the €1,350 to the winner Irish Retired Greyhound Trust A2/A3 and it went the way of the Johnny Linehan-trained Footfield Siren.
In the ownership of Martin Hagan, the 2-1 winner produced one of her better breaks and she just made the corner ahead of favourite Millridge Levi. Showing lovely pace down the back straight, Footfield Siren was always in control and she galloped strongly to the line to beat Millride Levi. Two and a half lengths the margin, in 29.98.
QUICKEST RUN
In the following race, Millridge Bobby clocked the quickest run of the night over the standard trip when winning for Donal O'Mahony.
The advantage of the inside was key at the opening corner as the 2-1 winner just slipped around in front. Cheeky Chloe was chasing hard throughout, but the one in front had all the answers, staying on strongly, the Millridge runner beat Cheeky Chloe, by three lengths, in 28.57. (AA0).
IN THE OPENER
In the opener, Givemeabreak proved a class apart when making a winning debut.
Trained by Pat Norris for Paudie Taylor, the June son of Bull Run Bolt and Tibet ran out a wide margin winner, in 28.79. Leaving previous trial form well behind, the 4-6 favourite impressed with a fine front running display.
GREAT WEEKEND FOR KIERAN LYNCH
Kieran Lynch enjoyed a weekend to remember and the local trainer was on the scoresheet in the closing race, Trouble winning for owners the Memphis-Mafia-Syndicate.
It wasn't straight forward for the 4-6 favourite, with the pacey performer coming from off the pace to score. It was tight for racing room throughout, but the winner found that bit more in the closing stages. Aughrim Melody two lengths back in second, in 29.21. (A1).
