KNOCK OUT BLOW FROM THE MULLINGARSHUFFLE IN THE KINGDOM

MULLINGARSHUFFLE was quickest on the clock in round two of the Greyhound & Petworld Juvenile Classic at Tralee on Friday night.

Out of luck in the opening round, the son of Droopys Sydney and Skywalker Pearl, an April puppy, clocked a fantastic 28.29 in beating a couple of real smart sorts. Trained by Denis Fitzgerald for owners the Pillar-Syndicate, the 7-2 shot hit the ground running with a great start. Showing massive gears upfront, the exciting talent was always in cruise control.

Ballymac Kurtis ran a big race in second, but the winner was still three lengths too strong. It was a further two lengths back to Ballymac Ben in third.

EPIC ENCOUNTER

The fourth and final heat was an epic encounter, the Michael O'Donovan trained Coolavanny Hoffa (Droopys Sydney-Coolavanny Ella) just getting the better of Wi Can Dream.

The 5-4 winner, a June puppy, showed his flying early pace to win the all-important early lead. Both the front two trackers showed bundles of early pace, but it was Coolavanny Hoffa who came out on top on this occasion. A fabulous performance to land the spoils in 28.41.

Hoodoo Brown was another massive eye catcher in third, half a length behind the runner up.

TWO FROM TWO

Da Bold Freddie (Ballymac Bolger-Ballymac Belle) brought his winning tally to two wins from two career outings in heat three.

Trained by Michael Corr for Tommy McDonagh, the even-money favourite was soon in control after another flying start. Piling on the pressure up front, the outcome was never in any doubt as he came home with five and a half lengths to spare over Droopys Edison.

A length back to Lenson On Ice in third. A 28.31 winning performance.

JET DOES THE BUSINESS

Mustang Jet, for Sean Bourke and Paul Horig, gained revenge on Glengar Scholar as the July son of Droopys Jet and Mustang Kay Cee scored in heat three.

Just like last week, the 6-4 winner display plenty of early pace. Keeping on well upfront, the Jet pulled out all the stops to beat the running on Glengar Scholar. At the line, three-quarters of a length separated the front two, in 28.51.  Four and a half lengths back to Millridge Andy in third place.
