MEMORABLE NIGHT FOR CAMPION AT CLONMEL

Paraic Campion has started 2022 in fine form and the Tipperary handler sent out another trio of winner’s last night at Clonmel Greyhound Stadium to maintain his purple patch.

The first greyhound to pass the post in front for Paraic Campion was the very impressive Narazeth in the opening race of the night. Owned by Mark Sullivan, Nazareth has looked smart in previous outings but the brindle produced his best performance to date last night as he made light work of his A4 contest. Quickest into stride wearing the blue jacket, the son of Dorotas Woo Hoo and Sidarian Fizz took control from an early stage and he was never under threat as he came home three and a half lengths clear of Callys Lady in second. The time was a swift 28.87.

Shortly after, in race four, Violets Hill made it back-to-back wins at Clonmel with another trap-to-line victory. Owned by Osmond Bennett, the fawn trapped best of all from trap four and she held all the aces entering the opening turn. From here, the daughter of Magical Bale and Road Queen made every post a winner and she held firm to see off the chasing hard, Bogcross Amigo, in second. The time was 29.13.

The treble was completed in race eight as the heavyweight youngster, Palace Hill, sealed a first career win at the fourth time of asking. Owned by the New-Ballyboy-syndicate, the big fawn was chinned in the closing stages of his last outing but he was to turn the tables on Gleam Of Love this time around. Disputing early on with Ellies Knight in trap three, the son of Ballymac Vic and Boozed Bubble displayed good early pace and it was his red jacket that took control rounding the opening corner. From here, Palace Hill showed fine speed and determination as he galloped to a length and a half victory over Gleam Of Love in second. The time was 29.11.

TOTO TAKES OFF

Kilcash Toto may be entering her fourth year but Jim Lynch’s bitch is showing no signs of decline as she clocked a brilliant 16.15 in race six.

Chasing a fourth career win, Kilcash Toto may have found things tough in recent starts but she was in no mood to hang around from trap one last night as she flashed out in front. Showing brilliant acceleration into the opening corner, the daughter of Laughil Blake and Kilcash Earner took no prisoners as she powered her way to a five length victory over nearest rival, Ballysloe Spark, in second. The time, as mentioned, was a slick 16.15.

TOMMY TOO GOOD

There was one other serious run of note on last night’s card and that came in race seven as Tommy Too Many ran out a brilliant winner in what was a 550-yard contest.

Owned by Moydrum-Massive-Syndicate, Tommy Too Many made a name for himself under the name of Bogger Seanie but he excelled further last night as he produced a very accomplished display at Clonmel. Out in front wearing the striped jacket, Tommy Too Many proved a class above his rivals from the outset as he powered into the opening corner in charge. Maintaining a relentless gallop thereafter, the son of Dorotas Woo Hoo and Ballintee Babe was four lengths better off than Moanteen Cindy at the winning line. The time was a rapid 29.66 for the 550-yard trip.
