SPECIAL HANNOVER ADDS TO GLOWING REPUTATION

Hannover Phantom stole the headlines on his debut earlier in the month with a brilliant 28.80 performance at Galway and the August puppy added to his glowing reputation with another eye-catching display last night.

Owned by Leeanne Fleming, Hannover Phantom won comfortably on debut as he led from trap-to-line and he stepped up to the extra 25-yards in style last night with a quite emphatic performance. An August son of Slippery Robert and Be Slow Dor, this talented black was stepping into graded action for the first time and he made some very useful rivals look ordinary as he ran to a virtual solo. Fastest into stride wearing the white jacket, Hannover Phantom showed big early dash to take control and once doing so, he drew clear of his rivals down the back with the writing well and truly on the wall from an early stage. Maintaining a powerful gallop rounding the bottom two bends, Hannover Phantom proved a class apart as he raced to a nine and a half length victory over Five Alley Crakl in second and extended his unbeaten career start to two flawless wins. The time was a rapid 30.03 .20s for the 550-yard trip and this is a greyhound who is worth keeping an eye on going forward.

GRACE WAS SLICK

There was one other performance of note on last night’s Galway card and that came in race four as Grace Be Slick won an A7 contest in dominant style.

Owned by Liam Butler, Grace Be Slick has had to settle for third-place in her two starts prior but this September 20’ whelp produced an terrific performance to justify her 1/2 starting odds. On-song at traprise, the daughter of Skywalker Rafa and Notimetotalk flashed from trap four to leave her rivals for dust in the early exchanges. Quickly asserting her authority on the contest, Grace Be Slick was never under threat of being caught as she opened a sizable advantage over her rivals to eventually come home twelve lengths too strong. The time was a rapid 29.10 .20s and given her age, Butler’s charge has a very bright future indeed.
