TOM PA GETTING CLOSE TO HIS GOAL

It was back in mid-December when we told you of Tom Pa O'Connor's fundraising efforts to raise vital funds for vital research, treatment and hospice care in Tralee University Hospital, Cork University Hospital and Milford Hospice.
Some two months later, Tom is getting ever closer to his €100,000 goal. The Go-Fund me page is currently showing a figure of over €51,000 in donations, while over the three days of the National Coursing Meeting at Clonmel, the coursing community displayed their generosity with a further €35,000 raised in raffle ticket sales.
Padraig Bunyan, one of the fundraising-committee, gave the update on Facebook and confirmed that just over €86,000 has been raised thus far. Great credit must go to Tom Pa and all involved in the effort.
It is still possible to buy tickets for the aforementioned raffle until the Irish Cup on February 27th.

Below are the words accompanying the appeal:
“Cancer is a disease which affects all of our lives, either directly or indirectly. Tom Pa O Connor is currently completing his journey through cancer care and wishes to thank all of those who are helping him overcome the disease. He is hoping to raise €100,000 to help fund vital research, treatment and hospice care in Tralee University Hospital, Cork University Hospital and Milford Hospice. This money will help these three facilities continue to carry out the vital work and research which helps so many to face their battle with cancer.”
As we stated in December when we spoke last of the appeal; whether you have €5 or €5,000 to spare, please give something to this worthwhile appeal. A goal of €100,000 has been set but I’m sure Tom Pa and all that know him would be delighted if the appeal were to raise even more.
This is an opportunity for the greyhound racing and coursing community to give a clear indication of their unwavering generosity, while also giving something back. The very best of luck to Tom Pa in his continued recovery and we look forward to seeing him sending out winners on the track in the very near future.
