FOUR TIMER FOR GRANGEVIEW AS JOMAC LANDS 350 FEATURE

There were some good performances on show at Galway Greyhound Stadium last night but the pick of those was that of Grangeview Port as he made it four wins on the spin in the concluding race.

Owned by Michael Hogan, the heavyweight tracker brought his impressive tally to eight victories last night and he began his four-timer back in mid-December. Winning in poor weather conditions on that occasion, he followed up one week later to hold off Danamesbuzz in 29.38. The son of Grangeview Ten and Blastoff Khalesi started 2023 in the same vein of form he ended 2022 with another win in January, taking charge at the penultimate turn to record 29.41. Last night, however, he went much quicker as he led from the outset to continue his spectacular form. Sent to traps as the 5/4 favourite to make it a four-timer, Grangeview Port didn’t come away too well from five but showed sizzling early gears to immediately reel in Ballyhale Chloe in six. Breezing into the first turn in charge, Hogan’s charge opened a three length advantage down the back and from here, there was never any danger of him being pegged back. The 84-pounder continued his relentless gallop into the final turn and despite running very wide off the last, he was still six lengths clear of nearest rival, Malbay Theo, in second. This massively consistent tracker continues to deliver for his connections and on this occasion, he stopped the clock in 28.96 .20s.

JOMAC LANDS 350 FEATURE

The final of the Galway Greyhound Stadium Novice 350 was the highlight on the card last night and it went the way of Jomac, who made it three wins from his many starts.

Owned by Joe Keane, the July 21’ whelp landed his debut outing in 19.60 and followed that up well to clock 19.40 the following week. Heading into last night’s decider, Jomac was installed as the 6/4 second favourite behind Crafty Kaboom but he ensured it was all one-way traffic as he won in comfortable style. Running from trap three, Jomac came away level with Fantasy Penny in four but showed tremendous early pace to quickly open a sizable advantage approaching the opener. Tracking brilliantly around the bottom two bends, the son of Broadstrand Bono and Frost Nixon drew clear up the home straight and he secured the €700 first prize for connections in fine style, crossing the line three lengths clear of Fantasy Penny in second.
