Ballintee Noshow produced a professional performance to claim the feature of Friday’s action at Kilkenny, the final of the Talking Dogs A2 525.
In the absence of likely hot favourite Bogger Lucky, Ballintee Noshow took full advantage.
The Murt Leahy trained son of Burgess Bucks and Ballintee Flare broke fast from trap three to post a personal best 4.26 sectional. It saw the Noshow Syndicate owned speedster hold a narrow advantage on the turn.
He quickly increased his lead to two and a half lengths by halfway but he had to pin his ears back on the run in to repel the late charge of Droopy Selector. The latter flew home to force the judge into action but the nod went to Ballintee Noshow by a short head in 29.19.
BOY FASTEST IN FRIGHTFUL FLASH
Elsewhere on the card, Vicarshill Boy went fastest in the opening round of the Frightful Flash Kennels A3 525, leading from the second turn in the opening heat.
The Thomas Leahy trained son of Dorotas Wildcat went on to beat Hare Larey by a length and a half in 29.34.
Hello Speedy was just a few spots slower in the second heat, leading from the corner to win for Brian Ellard. Making every yard thereafter, he beat Sheadogue Spot by two lengths in 29.37.
The final heat saw Lance Strolls lead late for Karol Ramsbottom. The son of Droopys Sydney was never far off the pace before taking the verdict by a neck from Kilgraney Saint in 29.43.
