NASEEM THE STAR OF ‘THE JOE SHOW’ AT KILKENNY

NASEEM THE STAR OF ‘THE JOE SHOW’ AT KILKENNY

Ian Fortune

Named after the flamboyant and hugely talented fighter of the late 1990’s, Prince Naseem delivered a knockout blow to his rivals at Kilkenny on Friday night to the star of the Joe Show On2 Unraced Stake.

Representing Kim Bergin and trained Shaun Conway, the well bred son of Droopys Sydney and Razldazl Annie was dominant in Heat 3, shooting from trap two to make every inch. By the line, the March ’22 whelp had some thirteen and a half lengths in hand on Droopys Prairie in 29.11.

JAX TOO HOT

Unanimous Jax was next fastest in the last of the four heats as he too made all to emerge a comfortable scorer for Murt Leahy and the aptly named Good Times Ahead Syndicate.

The son of Ballymac Bolger and Ballymac Trudi struck the line eight lengths to the good over Maripuri in 29.26.

BUNDEE SHOWS HIS POWER TO IMPRESS

Lemon Bundee was a good winner of Heat 2 for Tom Lennon.

Only fifth to the corner, the son of Broadstrand Bono and Lemon Ariana rode a bump to move third into the back straight. Once getting in the clear he had too much ammunition for Fairy Story and Buzz Light Year, shooting between the pair at the third turn before easing on to beat the traffic affected Sober Sparkle by four and a half lengths in 29.29.

LUKE CHARGES INTO THIRD TURN

The opening heat went the way of Heres Luke.

The Michael Donnelly trained son of Pestana and Lemon Stacey was always prominent before outpacing his rivals into the third turn to take over the Crinkill Noel. Once going to the front, Bill Evans’ charge eased on to win by an ever-increasing four and a half lengths over Lemon Dot in 29.52. It seems safe to suggest there is better to come from the winner.
