Alan Dobbs shared some great news on social media yesterday, showing a video and picture of new doting mother Up The Style.
The brilliant 2022 National Puppy Stake winner is a member of the sensational Pestana/ Unlock Unlock litter and she was a true star on the track.

Aside from her success in the National Puppy, she also posted some exceptional times during her short racing career. In fact, she won her first three career starts by an aggregate of thirty lengths, clocking a stunning 28.17 to win the final of the RCÉ Unraced at Newbridge in September ’22.
On her Shelbourne debut, she posted 28.23 and soon followed up with runs of 28.29 and 28.39. Returning in 2023, she posted a massive 28.04 at Cork in the opening round of the Shelley Fennely Memorial before dipping under the magical 28 second barrier a week later as she posted a sensational 28.04. Sadly, she stumbled badly in the final and picked up an injury in her very next and final start, in the opening round of the Derby.
And so, it was straight to the breeding paddocks. Alan posted on X that the January ’21 whelp had given birth to a healthy litter by last year’s brilliant Juvenile Derby champion Droopy Flytline, stating ‘the pups are just over a week old’. He also suggested that both mother and puppies are doing really well.
On further investigation we found out that they are a litter of eight, six dogs and two bitches. Now that’s what they call a nice litter. Best of luck to Alan and his brother Pat with the new pups and hopefully they will be as good as their mum and dad. If that’s the case, they will be flying machines.
