SUSIE GOES FAST BUT SCOOBY GOES FASTEST

Derby champion Susie Sapphire continued her comeback with a fluent run in a 525yd trial at Shelbourne Park ahead of racing on Saturday night.

The Owen McKenna trained superstar blew away few cobwebs with an impressive 28.31 return.

Showing her trademark early dash, the daughter of Droopys Jet posted a fast 15.98 to the third turn and ran right to the line. It was a hugely encouraging display and one that should bring her closer to full fitness ahead of an Easter Cup challenge.

It wasn’t the fastest run on the session, however. Instead that honour went to the impressive National Puppy Stake winner Scooby Prince. The Jennifer O’Donnell trained star posted a quick 28.28. His litter sister and Puppy Oaks winner Scooby Duchess also trialled very well, posting a slick 28.36.
