GRI
This week we chat to Fionnuala from Timaru kennels who runs the IRGT greyhound care centre and foster centre. Fionnuala describes to us a day in the life of a retired racing greyhound and all of the steps in between before they are rehomed.
Before they find their forever home there are a few boxes that need to be ticked off. For example did you know that some racing greyhounds are afraid of stairs? And some may not be familiar with household items such as the TV.
Fionnuala's job is to introduce the greyhounds to new things that they may not have previously dealt with, sometimes even walking. Fionnuala also tells us that when the greyhounds are comfortable enough with walking around Croom, she takes them into the big city of Limerick to see city life. The noise, the traffic and most importantly the Starbucks puppaccinos.
Have a listen to this lovely tale now!
