There was yet another twist in the final of the RPGTV Puppy Derby at Towcester on Monday evening with the stewards forced to halt the hare at the last turn in the interests of safety.

Both Makeskingkaiden and the Brendan Matthews trained Undulation hitting the deck at the opening turn.

Makeit The Bear was clear at the time, after slipping the field on the corner with Romeo Command closing in second and the second of Brendan Matthews’ runners Coordination third but, alas, it wasn’t meant to be.

While previous delays in the competition were down to the weather and a traps issue in the semis, this was no more than bad luck. The team at Towcester are to contest the connections of the six finalists today to discuss what should happen next. Certainly, the competition has been cursed to this point.
