WHISPA POWERS HOME TO MAKE IT A BALLYMAC 1-2-3 IN KINGDOM DERBY DECIDER

A very special lady, BALLYMAC WHISPA delivered a powerful and stunning performance to win the final of the €7,000 to the winner Eric Browne Memorial Kingdom Derby at Tralee Greyhound Stadium on Friday night.

It looked like a Liam Dowling affair on paper and that was the case with the Ballymac trainer recording a 1-2-3 in the feature.

BALLYMAC KENNELS
Ballymac Finn was sent off the 11-10 favourite and he sailed around the opening corners in total control.

Ballymac Bronze and Ballymac Whispa turned handy with the others in serious trouble. Finn was setting strong early fractions and for most of the way, he looked the certain winner. Everyone knows how strong Ballymac Whispa is and she needed to be every inch as strong to reel in an in-form Ballymac Finn. She had two or three lengths to make up turning for home, but she had all the answers, getting up in the very last stride to beat Ballymac Finn.

A fantastic end to a superb event, with Ballymac Whispa getting the verdict, by the shortest of margins, in a top class, 28.18. Two and a half lengths back to Ballymac Bronze in third place.

IMPRESSIVE DISPLAY FROM DISCO PANTS
In other races, Disco Pants put on a magnificent front running display to win race number seven, an AA0/A0.

Trained by Michael Daly for owners Conor Healy and John Breen, the 6-4 second choice of the punters was inch perfect with a really classy 28.24 winning performance. Producing a really good start and making all the running, Disco Pants impressed as he beat Stream Of Sydney, who lost it at the opening turn, by half a length, in 28.24.

YOUNGSTER GOING PLACES
In the closing race on the card, Pade Di Oro looks a youngster going places after the May puppy won with plenty to spare.

A son of Droppys Sydney and Trusted Exile, the even-money winner was an impressive winner on debut around Youghal back in September and he landed the A3 around the Kingdom in a really quick 28.39, winning by a wide margin for trainer Pat Buckley and owner Javier Jarne.
