BLAZE MAKES QUITE A START TO HIS UK CAREER

BLAZE MAKES QUITE A START TO HIS UK CAREER

Ian Fortune

After changing hands at the back end of the year and joining the Mark Wallis operation, the brilliant Garfiney Blaze has certainly hit the ground running since landing in the UK.

Of course, he had already run across the water in the early rounds of the St Leger when trained by Graham Holland only to be pulled out ahead of the semis.

But as a UK trained greyhound, he now boasts a record of two wins from two starts after another brilliant display in the ARC Cesarewitch at Central Park on Saturday night. That’s not even the most impressive aspect of his time in the UK. In both those starts, he lowered the track record for the 731m trip at Central Park and is now an odds-on favourite to land next weekend’s decider.

Joining in him in the final are his kennel companions Ballymac Taylor and Mad For Sterling, while Bradys Bullet, Alright Gordy and Ela Maestro complete a talented field.
