CATCH-UP WITH HUGH CAHILL AND HIS PET, TIGER, AN IRISH RETIRED GREYHOUND

In late 2023, we joined Hugh Cahill as he took a visit to the new Leinster Care Centre in Co. Kildare. Hugh, who many will know from RTÉ Sports, was in the early stages of his journey to adopt a former racing greyhound as a new family pet.

Fast-forward a few months and Tiger has now firmly established himself as the newest member of the Cahill family. We join Hugh and Tiger on a visit to the beach to learn more about how they're doing, Tiger's experience settling in and getting to know his new family - cats included!

The Leinster Care Centre operates exclusively within the Irish market which means that all of it's greyhounds will be rehomed within Ireland. A partnership between Rásaíocht Con Éireann (RCÉ)/ Greyhound Racing Ireland (GRI) and the Irish Retired Greyhound Trust, this Care Centre is the next chapter in a racing greyhounds life and will help ex-racing greyhounds find their new families and their forever homes as pets.
