KINTURK LANDS VALUABLE BONUS

When Greyhound Racing Ireland announced their 2023 Racing Bonus Incentives earlier in the year, the one that stood out was the Stayers Bonus.

It was certainly conceivable that the Deadly Kennels Open 750 winner would go on to capture the RPGTV Corn Cuchulainn and so it transpired on Saturday night with Kinturk Road running out a wonderful winner of the latter.

And what is her prize? On top of the €5,000 she picked up for her owner Frank Thornton in the Curraheen Park feature and the €10,500 she landed on Saturday night in the Corn Cuchulainn, she will be awarded a further €10,000 for the double.

Now that is a prize worth toasting. As it happens, the bonus is to be paid out with 40% going to the owner, 40% to the trainer and 20% to the breeder. It’s a wonderful incentive and congratulations to her owner Frank Thornton and trainer/breeder Liam Dowling, who have a serious stayer on their hands.
