ÚNA O’SULLIVAN

The greyhound community lost a beloved member yesterday with the sad passing of Úna O’Sullivan after an illness.

Along with her husband John, Úna was a great supporter, owner, breeder and sponsor of greyhound sport.  

In recent times, she owned some hugely talented trackers including Ballymore Border, who captured the Dublin Cup at the end of 2021. Incidentally, she also bred the star performer.

John and Úna were the proud sponsors of the Juvenile Derby at Harold’s Cross for a number of years and their love for the sport has never wavered, while they also had a huge involvement in coursing.

A lovely lady, Úna was a hugely popular figure and her loss will be a felt by so many. We would like to send on our sincerest condolences to her husband John, sons Kieran, Seán, Liam, Pádraig and Benedict, daughters Bríd, Caitríona and Mary, her brothers Gerard, John and Patrick and sister Mary, extented family and many friends. Úna O'Sullivan (nee Garrahy) Moorhill House, Brannockstown, Co Kildare. Formerly Ennis road, Limerick, Monday 24th July 2023, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and in the incomparable care of St Vincent's Private Hospital, Dublin.

Predeceased by her parents Liam and Mary. Úna will be deeply regretted by her loving husband John, sons Kieran, Seán, Liam, Pádraig and Benedict, daughters Bríd, Caitríona and Mary. Una's brothers Gerard, John and Patrick and her sister Mary.

Reposing at her residence (W91 XC9V) on Thursday, 27th July, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.

Removal on Friday morning [house private] to arrive at St. Brigid's Church, in the Curragh, Co. Kildare (R56 H317) for funeral Mass at 11:30am. Úna's requiem Mass can be viewed via the below link.  After the Mass there will be a service at Newlands Cross Crematorium, Co. Dublin.
