WONDERFUL ACTION AT KILKENNY AHEAD OF FESTIVAL

Ian Fortune

Friday’s action at Kilkenny served as a wonderful appetizer to next weekend’s Festival of Racing at the venue.

There were some fine displays through Friday’s card in the semi-finals of a number of sweepstakes but the undoubted highlights were the performances of Kapuka Warrior and Boger Dusty in the semis of the John Mitchell Bookmaker & KGOBA A1 525.

The Karol Ramsbottom trained Kapuka Warrior (Good News/ Cruel Intentions) posted a stunning 28.59, making all to contain the strong staying Storys Pewee by three parts of a length in 28.59.

Bogger Dusty won in similar fashion, going up fast to dominate for Liam Peacock. The son of Droopy Biker and Mustang Swift went on to beat Deadly Crusader by four and a half lengths in 28.61.
