ACE IMPRESSES ON DEBUT AT GALWAY

Last night saw Galway host Saturday night’s rearranged race meeting and it was Jumeirah Ace who stole the show with a brilliant debut over the sprint distance.

Owned by Jimmy Buckley, Jumeirah Ace is only an October 20’ whelp but he came into race two with a smart 19.22 qualifying trial around the Connacht venue. Flashing from trap four in what was just a four-dog affair, the son of Ballymac Best and Jumeirah Charm held a three length lead into the opening corner, a lead he duly extended the further they went. Powering up the home straight to record a five and three parts of a length victory overAnnadown Rose in second, the time was a rapid 18.95 .10s.

IN OTHER RACES

In race four, No Blue Lights rediscovered his form as he recorded a third career win for Tracey Finerty. A son of Lenson Rocky and Riona, No Blue Lights broke behind Bumblebee Dylan but he soon outpaced his rival to take charge at the opening turn. Staying on well thereafter, No Blue Lights held off the fast finish of Bumblebee Dylan to win by one and a half lengths. The time was 19.00 .10s. 

Croaghill Annie got back to winning ways in race five for John and Patrick McDonagh as she made every yard to prevail. Fastest into stride wearing the white jacket, the daughter of Laughil Blake and Croaghill Girl quickly asserted as she shot to the rails to take a four length lead into the back. Chased in second by Bayview Snowey, the latter did make rapid inroads in the closing stages, however, it was too late as Craoghill Annie held enough in reserve. Just a half length separating the duo, the time was a good 29.08 .20s.

Race six was another four-dog affair and it was Heathlawn Polly who landed the spoils for Martin Kelly. Chasing a first career win in what was just her third career start, the November puppy produced a very classy display as she came home one and a half lengths clear of Annadown Duke in second. The time for the daughter of Skywalker Logan and Heathlawn Molly was a fast 29.06 .20s.

The night concluded on another fast note as Arrowhead made it three career wins for Kevin Ryan and in-form trainer, Stephen Murray. Running from trap six, Arrowhead was headed early on my Feed Me Nandos and he had some four lengths to make up upon entrance to the back straight. However, cutting the lead in half down the back, the son of Pat C Sabbath and Krystalise finished like a train as he coursed around the leader to score in style. Two lengths in it at the winning line, the time was a brisk 29.06 .20s.
