Darragh Morrissey was in touch to inform us of the wonderful fundraising effort he and his friends are making for a very worthwhile cause.
Darragh is, of course, steeped in greyhound racing and has a rich history in the sport despite his relative youth but is taking time off this week to cycle the length of this island of ours.
As we speak, Darragh and his friends are currently cycling from Malin Head to Mizen Head in aid of the Irish Cancer Society and Breast Cancer Ireland.
They commenced their journey on Monday, cycling the 136k from Malin Head to Enniskillen. Yesterday they landed in Athlone covering 126km and as you read these words they are probably halfway between Athlone and Limerick (121km). With a bit of luck, they will reach Killarney tomorrow before finishing up in Mizen Head on Friday.
All proceeds earned by the cyclists will be spilt evenly between their two chosen charities and they have currently raised almost €7,500 on their Go Fund Me page. Their original goal was €5,000 but it would be great if they could double that tally so why not join me in making a donation. Let’s shown the world, once again, how generous doggy people can be.
Once again, a big well done to Darragh and friends and keep up the good work. If you wish to donate, just click on the link: https://gofund.me/fcf8bdc7
