Sober Secret and Sober Hero provided owner Sean Malone and handler Karol Ramsbottom with a wonderful double in the semi-finals of the Billy & Mary Ramsbottom Memorial at Kilkenny on Friday night.
SECRET CHARGES CLEAR
Of course, the stake is run in honour of Karol’s late parents and it would mean plenty should he win the stake next weekend. Sober Secret (Droopys Sydney/ Sober Pearl) weighs in at a whopping 93lbs and as you would expect has a long languid stride.
It was seen to great effect in the opening heat as he made every inch to lead home Hello Diego by three and a half lengths in 29.42.
HERO COMPLETES THE SOBER DOUBLE
Half an hour later, Sober Hero went even faster than his litter brother. Taking charge off the second turn, he eased on to win by four and a half lengths in 29.34.
