Monleek Atlanta and Armagh Daithi continued their superb run of form in the Paddy and Eamon Carroll Memorial A3 at Dundalk.
ATLANTA FASTEST
Little separated the pair on the clock but Monleek Atlanta went slightly faster when making virtually all in the opening semi-final.
The son of Magical Bale and Cats Belle is very strong so it didn’t look good for his rivals when he broke smartly to lead up from trap three. Once avoiding bad traffic and turning in front, John and Rita Downey’s charge was always going to increase his advantage.
Pulling further and further clear, the July ’21 whelp went on to beat New Alliance by eight and a quarter lengths in 28.60. Rolo Bucks progressed in third, just a neck behind the runner-up.
DAITHI SHOWS HIS CLASS
Armagh Daithi is building an incredible card and he added a seventh victory to his card in the second semi. Aidan McVeigh’s son of Ballymac Best and Pavilion Pearl failed to set the pace but displayed bravery on the corner to slip around second behind Rolo Pistachio.
This set up a great buckle into the third turn. Rolo Pistachio continued to lead down the back straight but Armagh Daithi close to challenge on the inside of his rival at the third turn. It looked likely the door would be closed but Armagh Daithi was determined to get through the gap.
Showing real determination, Armagh Daithi shot through along the fence before going on to beat his rival by a length and a quarter in 28.65. Ross Dame was another four and a quarter length away in third.
