EYE-CATCHING TRIALS AS TORNADO AND KILDARE GO FASTEST

Both Peter Cronin and Graham Holland also had plenty of interest in the trial session ahead of racing at Towcester on Sunday afternoon.

And as it happens, both men had reason to be happy with their respective teams moving very well.

Graham Holland trialled four with Bockos Vieira posting 29.49 for the 500m trip. Knight Tornado was the star of his four to trial, however, clocking a rapid 15.65 for the sprint trip. Russian Glory also pleased, as he flew around in a fast 15.76, while Bockos Leah continued her return to top form after a seasonal break, posting 16.03.

But the real story of the trial session was the run of the lightly raced Kildare. Peter Cronin’s charge was last seen in action when running a big race in the final of the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial where he finished third. In what was his first look at Towcester, the hugely exciting son of Droopys Sydney posted a fastest of the session 29.21 for the 500m trip.

Not to be outdone, his kennel companion Emilys Jet also trialled very well. He has already won a trial stake at Towcester and clearly likes the Northamptonshire circuit. He posted a fast 4.16 sectional before going on to stop the clock in 29.29. The talented Da Bold Freddie also had a very encouraging first look, recording 29.39 off a rapid 4.11 sectional.

Incidentally, Scooby Prince had his first spin for his new handler Patrick Janssens, clocking 16.03 for the sprint trip. He is only in his new surroundings a matter of days and can only improve for the outing.
