Just like last week, Tuono Charlie set the standard in the Deadly Kennels Open 750 as the Sharon Hunt-trained runner delivered another foot-perfect display in the second semi-final at Curraheen Park on Saturday night. Paul Dyer's dog was making it six straight wins and the 1-2 favourite was always in control up front. Winning the all-important early lead, he was soon a long way in front and he came home well clear for another wide-margin success. A 42.21 winning run, nine and a half lengths clear of Dazl Twink Babe, with a length and a half back to Aherla Rocco in third place. (0.60slow.

In the opening heat, Twofourone hit the front early, soon nicely clear, the Michael English trained runner then just had enough in reserve to hold the fast-finishing Dangingerbreadman. Owned by Owen and Patrick Dooley, the 5-1 winner showed plenty of early dash in winning. The runner-up showed plenty of pace in defeat and half a length separated them at the line, in 42.64. Six lengths back to Colossal Venture in third place. (0.60slow)

Racing concluded with a Mini Open event, Burgess Canon stuck to his task well in the closing stages to win for trainer Paraic Campion and owners JJ Fennelly and Sheila Spillane. Always in the mix up front, the even-money favourite battled well to beat Bouncing Lad, by a length, in 28.87. (0.30slow).
