Gortkelly Bear impressed when recording back-to-back wins in the second semi-final of the DG Foods LTD A4 Tri Distance at Kilcohan Park on Saturday night.
Trained by Michael Meade for owner Derek Larkin, the rapidly improving September puppy slipped around in front, and from there, he was always in control. Showing massive all-round speed, the even-money favourite delivered a fantastic performance, clocking 29.93 and coming home with five and a half lengths to spare over Bogger Cash. A length back to Lough Malachy.
In the opening semi-final, Knocknadoguebale came home in front for the Dont-Know-Syndicate. The well-fancied 4-6 favourite was in front soon after the second corner and she stayed on strongly up front to record back-to-back winning performances. A 29.95 winning run, three lengths clear of Posh Luchy who was back in second. Tomahurra Dubh was three lengths back in third place.
