FLYTLINE AND LAHDEDAH TOP 2024 BOYLESPORTS DERBY BETTING

Sponsors Boylesports have been quick off the mark to price up next year’s Irish greyhound Derby.

While rumours circulate that the Derby will be held later next year due to a Shelbourne Park revamp, what we do know is that De Lahdedah and Droopys Flytline share favouritism at 20-1.

Of course, the pair have met already in the early rounds of the Juvenile Derby with De Lahdedah coming out on top but it was Droopys Flytline that went on to capture the classic in sensational fashion. They are certainly two exceptional greyhounds and are deserving of their lofty position in the market.

Just behind the duo are Daleroad Duke and Highview Splash, both impressive winners at Shelbourne Park on Saturday night, while they are joined on the 33-1 mark by the 2022 Juvenile Derby and 2023 Irish and English Select Stakes winner Clona Duke.

He is closely followed by his three Graham Holland trained kennel companions Clona Curly, Faypoint Sean and Nomadic Nova at 40-1. There are some established names at 50-1 including Bens Teddy, Ballinabola Ed, Ballymac Marino and Clonbrien Treaty, while they are also joined by the exciting Jetara.

It is early days and there will be plenty of updates to the market in the coming months. Certainly, expect a whole host of new names to appear on the list in the coming weeks and months as the newest crop of youngsters begin to hit the tracks in the early season unraced stakes.
