FLYTLINE OFF TO STUD FOR WINTER

After his sensational Juvenile Derby success, the plan had always been to run Droopys Flytline at the Winter Racing Festival but, after straining his TFL muscle in a recent trial at HQ, plans have changed.

His handler, Robert Gleeson confirmed this morning that the brilliant son of Laughil Blake and Droopys Curio will head back to the Droopys Stud to take up stud duties for the winter.

Of course, such was the promise he displayed as an unraced puppy, allied with his impeccable pedigree, he already has a few litters on the ground. His extra-curricular activities certainly didn’t affect his performance when he finally began his racing career with the September ’21 whelp emerging a stunning winner of the quality-packed Denis Linehan Solicitors Open Unraced at Curraheen Park before going on to claim the Juvenile Derby in such stunning fashion.

As we speak, his record reads eight wins and one second spot finish in nine career outings. It seems safe to suggest he will prove popular with breeders but the plan is to bring him back early in the year with Robert Gleeson confirming that the Easter Cup will be the immediate target. I think I can speak for all of us by saying we can’t wait to see him back on the track in the near future.
