MOTHER JONES DOES IT AGAIN IN CURRAHEEN PARK FEATURE

Barry Drake

In superb form in recent weeks, Mother Jones took another nice pot in Curraheen Park on Saturday night as the Ger Crowley owned runner ran out a brilliant winner of the €1,800 to the winner Davy O'Brien Memorial A2 Stake.
Such a strong performer, the 5-2 shot produced an average but after tracking beautifully around the opening corners, she was soon right in the mix. Coosey Hall and Riverside Bocko came together up front and Mother Jones was in front before the third corner. From there, the outcome was never in any doubt and she kept on strongly to beat Coosey Hall, by a length and a half, in 30.31.
Tuono Charlie was a most impressive winner of the closing race, an A1 575, for trainer Sharon Hunt and owner Paul Dyer. The well backed 6-4 favourite hit the ground running and it was a stunning front running winning performance. Showing real speed throughout, the classy winner powered to a wide margin success, stopping the clock in a very quick, 31.04.
Burgess Jack took the Open Sprint for Sarah Shannon. The even-money favourite took up the running at the opening corner and he pulled away to beat the running on Glory Baz, by a length and a half, in 17.75. Another magnificent performance from the exciting sprinter.
Elsewhere on the night, Millridge Poppy returned to top form when winning the ninth, an A3, for the O'Mahony family. Making the most of the drop in class, the 3-1 winner caught the eye on the back straight and she beat the early paced Devs Diva, by a length, in 28.58.

A huge crowd turned out in support of Grenagh GAA and a great night was had.
