RODGE DWAN

RODGE DWAN

The greyhound industry is saddened to learn of the death of Rodge Dwan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

The Dwan Family are synonymous with the ‘Borna’ prefix and Rodge sent out some incredible greyhounds over the years, perhaps most notably Borna Survivor, who won the Irish Oaks in 1999.

Indeed, both of Rodge’s sons, Ruairi and Michael, are directors at Thurles Greyhound Stadium and two of his Granddaughters, Kate and Michell, work at the Premier venue every weekend. The Borna prefix is still one of the most respected names in the game and the Family continue to fly the flag with many runners gracing the track on a regular basis. To outline what huge support the Family are of greyhound racing at Thurles, Rodge’s brother, Liam, still attends the racing every weekend at nearly 90 years-of-age.
