1-2-3 FOR TEAM HENNESSY IN CURRAHEEN PARK FEATURE

Barry Drake

Trainer Paul Hennessy recorded a 1-2-3 in the €4,000 to the winner Jacktavern Gem @ Stud A2/A3 Bitch Stake Final at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.

Owned by Bryan and Kathleen Murphy, it was Barefoot Amber who came out on top in the feature final as the 2-1 second favourite delivered a paw perfect display to land the spoils.

Showing huge early speed to slip clear early on, the impressive winner was along way clear at halfway. In truth, the outcome was never in doubt, however, Youandme Babe did make up eye catching late headway for second.

A length and a half the margin, in 28.37, with four lengths back to Lilac Tree in third place.

SEMI FINALS

Orchid Legacy, trained by Patrick Barrett for Michael Clark, completed three straight wins in the second semi final of the Clona Duke @ Stud A0/A1 Stake.

Following up on last week’s impressive winning run, the even money favourite delivered another strong late run to deny Shanahee Boomer, by half a length, in 28.50.

In the opening semi final, it was Da Dapper Flynn who scored for trainer Pat Kiely and owners the Golden Spoon Syndicate.

Another powerful display to record back to back wins, in 28.53. The 4-1 winner got the better of Haughty Penny, by half a length, in 28.53.

SUPERB FORM

Smiling Jack landed the A2 575 Stake Final for Derry Withers.

In superb form in recent times, the 5-2 shot overcame the tricky trap five draw to win the €750 prize.

Turning handy around the opening corners, the strong running winner came home well to beat Drumboy Girl, by a length and a half, in 31.49.
