Denis McGrath was a happy man over the weekend.
Not only did he send out Foxwood Carter to emerge a superb winner at Limerick on Saturday night in a rapid 28.39, but the sire is McGrath’s own Bockos Jon Jo.
A dual category 1 winning sprinter across the water during an illustrious career, Foxwood Carter is from his first litter. It was his fifth career victory and he is clearly going the right way. McGrath is also very hopeful the second litter by his Bockos Jon Jo can also produce a few good ones.
The pups are out of former top class stayer Bockos Brandy. Certainly, if they inherit some of Jon Jo’s early speed and the stamina of their dam, we suspect plenty of winners will emerge from the litter. The best of luck to Denis with the pups and to Bockos Jon Jo in his future career as a sire.
